Keynote (45–60 minutes)
The full arc: why good content still fails, what great facilitation actually does, and what the audience can change immediately. Built-in participation, even at scale.
Speaking & keynotes
Most conference talks are watched. This one is taken part in. I speak about facilitation, attention and why good content still fails to land — and the room does the work with me.

Why bring me on stage
I have spent years in front of rooms that had every reason not to care — mandatory sessions, packed agendas, late-afternoon slots. That is where you learn what actually holds attention, and it is not slides.
A talk from me is built the way a good session is built: a clear promise, a structure people can feel, moments where they turn to each other, and something specific to take away. Your audience leaves with language they will still be using next week.
If the room only watches, it only remembers the speaker. If the room takes part, it remembers the point.

Talk themes
Every talk is shaped around your event, drawn from the five parts of the Facilitation Alive Standard. Pick the emphasis and we build from there.
Why the room decides about you in the first ninety seconds.
How to shape an hour so it builds instead of drifts.
Reading a room of hundreds as though it were twelve.
Turning an audience into participants without gimmicks.
What people still use a week after the applause.

Set the tone for the day, or land it. Sharp, single-idea, high-energy — designed to give the rest of your agenda something to hang on.
Smaller room, more practice. Delegates try the behaviours live and leave with a structure they can run in their own sessions.
For enablement, L&D and leadership audiences inside one organisation. Tailored to your language, your content and the rooms your people actually stand in front of.
Shane's sessions were a real pleasure. He makes complex ideas feel accessible and actually usable. You leave with things you want to put into practice — not just slides you'll ignore.
Shane is an outstanding trainer. He has a natural talent for coaching and mentoring, always ready to share insights to help others grow.
How we get there
A short brief call, an agreed promise for the session, a tailored build, and a run-through with your organiser or MC so the slot fits the day. If the event needs a facilitator across the whole agenda rather than a speaker in one slot, say so — that's workshop facilitation and it may be the better fit.
Questions
Date, audience, slot length and what you want people talking about afterwards. Send that over and I'll tell you honestly whether I'm the right person on your stage.
