Team facilitation

TEAM SESSIONS THAT ACTUALLY MOVE SOMETHING.

Team facilitation for leadership teams, offsites and away days. We design the day together, agree what it has to achieve, plan delivery — then I run it so nobody in the team has to choose between contributing and controlling the room.

The problem

A TEAM CAN'T FULLY PARTICIPATE AND RUN THE ROOM AT THE SAME TIME.

Team days get run by whoever is most senior or most organised — and that person also has a stake in the outcome. So the process bends around the loudest view, the quiet disagreement never surfaces, and everyone leaves agreeing to something nobody has actually committed to. A neutral facilitator holds the process so the team can do the real work.

  • The facilitator is also a stakeholder.
  • The quiet disagreement stays quiet.
  • Great discussion, no decision.
  • Actions that die on the journey home.

How it works

DESIGN → OUTCOMES → DELIVERY → RUN THE EVENT

Four real stages, all of them collaborative until the last one — where I take the room.

01

DESIGN

We design the day together — shape, flow, interaction and where the hard conversations sit.

02

OUTCOMES

We agree exactly what the session has to achieve, and how you'll know it did.

03

DELIVERY

We plan delivery together — roles, materials, timings, contributors and contingencies.

04

RUN THE EVENT

I run it on the day. You're in the room as a participant, not the person holding it together.

It's the same process as the wider workshop facilitation service, applied to team days.

What these days look like

TEAM DAYS WITH SOMETHING AT STAKE.

01

Leadership team offsites

A senior group that needs to work something through together — with the process held by someone who has no stake in which way it lands.

02

Away days and team resets

Days built to change how a team works together, structured so the honest conversation happens rather than the comfortable one.

03

Planning and prioritisation sessions

Getting a team from a long list of opinions to a set of decisions it will actually hold to afterwards.

Neutral in the room, on purpose

I'm not there to tell your team what the strategy should be. I'm there so your team can work it out without someone in the room trying to lead it and hold it at once.

Be clear about the job

PROCESS FACILITATION, NOT CONSULTING.

This isn't strategy consulting and I won't arrive with answers about your market, your structure or your plan. The expertise I bring is the room: design, sequencing, participation, surfacing disagreement and getting to a decision the team owns. The thinking stays yours. If you'd rather build this capability inside the team instead of bringing someone in, that's facilitation training.

Shane's sessions were a real pleasure. He makes complex ideas feel accessible and actually usable. You leave with things you want to put into practice — not just slides you'll ignore.
What sets Shane apart is that he doesn't just deliver training, he builds capability. The sessions changed how our team thinks about conversations, not just what they say in them.

Questions

TEAM FACILITATION, ANSWERED.

TELL ME ABOUT THE DAY.

Who's in the room, what's unresolved, and what has to be true when they leave? Send that over and I'll come back with how I'd design it.
